Britney Spears' Instagram account disappeared suddenly yesterday. She revealed soon afterwards it was her decision.
The last post from Britney Spears saw her announce her engagement to her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, showing off her new, stunning diamond ring.
Asghari is an actor and personal trainer. He and Britney met on the set of her music video for "Slumber Party" and have been dating since October 2016.
A source reports to Page Six that Britney is "happy and in a great place and silence can be a powerful thing and a powerful message."
They added: "This was her decision."
She is taking a break "in light of the successful path that she’s been on and continues to be on [following] the news of [her engagement]."
The singer's attorney Mathew Rosengart confirmed that it was his client's decision to go on a social media hiatus.
Britney Spears herself took to Twitter to write: "Don’t worry folks … just taking a little break from social media to celebrate my engagement ?? !!!! I’ll be back soon ??✨"
The singer has been through a tumultuous time fighting her conservatorship case.
