US boyband mogul Lou Pearlman has been sentenced to 25 years in jail.
Pearlman, who is the first cousin of Art Garfunkel, successfully managed bands like Backstreet Boys and N* Sync in the '90s, but was charged with conspiracy, money laundering, and making false statements during bankruptcy proceedings.
It is thought that Pearlman has swindled $300 million from investors and banks since the early '80s, many of whom gave emotional victim impact statements during his trial.
He said in court: "Over the past nine months since my arrest, I've come to realise the harm that's been done. I'm truly sorry and I apologise for what's happened."
