Since Beyoncé's latest single 'Who Run The World (Girls)' leaked online last month there's been fervent excitement about what kind of visual treat would be in store for us with the accompanying video, especially after a one minute teaser was released on vevo several weeks ago.
Last night, the former Destiny's Child star finally unveiled the clip on American Idol. It's a bit of a weird one but with Beyoncé and her band of dancers demonstrating their skills in what appears to be some sort of guerrilla war, it seems to symbolise that women's strength and power is synonymous with their femininity. But then, I'm inclined to overanalyse. It a also sees the singer practising her plough yoga position and borrowing a pair of Lady Gaga's shoes.
The song, which features a sample from Major Lazer's 'Pon De Floor' is taken from Beyoncé's upcoming album '4', which is due for release on June 24th just in time for her performance at Glastonbury. Beyoncé is also set for a trip to Ireland this summer, taking a headline slot at this year's Oxegen festival.
