The first "semi-official" announcement for Electric Picnic was made by Paul Noonan of Bell X1 at the band's last show at Vicar St on Thursday. "Semi-official" in that it's not official at all, but seeing as it was the band themselves that made the announcement, it's probably true.
Noonan may get in a little trouble for letting the cat out of the bag ahead of tomorrow evening's official Electric Picnic launch, where music giants Morrissey, Madness and Brian Wilson are rumoured to be announced to headline the Stradbally based music and arts festival.
Bell X1 just finished an extended run at Vicar St and are due to support U2 at their final night in Croke Park on July 27th
