Despite once describing him as a "jackass" after his Taylor Swift antics at the MTV VMA's in 2009, President Barack Obama has apparently experienced a Kanye u-turn and admitted that the rapper is among his favourite musicians.
Speaking to People magazine about whether he'd prefer to socialise with Kanye and Kim Kardashian or the cast of US TV show Duck Dynasty, Obama plumped for the TV stars but said: "Kanye's music is outstanding. I've got a lot of his stuff on my iPad. If it was a concert, then I might not mind listening to him."
Meanwhile Kanye has already begun forming plans for the release of his next album, a follow-up to this year's Yeezus, and it could see the light of day as soon as next summer.
"I think my next album is going to be eight songs", said West. "It's just reducing the amount of information you need. People say a design is the point where you can't take anything else away and Yeezus was very, very designed."
One wonders if Kanye will take inspiration from Beyonce and release the record unconventionally, but our gut tells us Kanye gets a bit of a thrill from the lead-in and anticipation of a new record. Time, as they say, will tell.
