Reports today in the English press have suggested the cause of death of Amy Winehouse will be revealed today to have been alcohol withdrawal. It was largely assumed that Winehouse's death in July was the result of a drug overdose, but it appears that those reports were without foundation. The Winehouse family have maintained that her death was caused by her refusal to obey doctors' orders and reduce her intake of alcohol gradually. Toxicology tests concluded that there were no illegal substances in Winehouse's system.
