Rumours are abound that Fleetwood Mac are in line to headline next summer's festival (get it??)

The popularity of Glastonbury, arguably the world's most famous music festival, shows no sign of dwindling after it sold out its entire ticket allocation just 25 minutes after they became available yesterday morning.

A statement on the Glastonbury website said: "We're humbled by the incredible numbers of people who would like to come to the Festival - and it's clear that demand once again outstripped supply this year.

"We're sorry that some of you have missed out, but there will be a resale or returned tickets in the spring.

"Thank you all for your never-ending support of our Festival."

What's perhaps even more remarkable is that the festival has sold out before even announcing one act who'll play next summer - but any lack of concrete information hasn't stopped the inevitable speculation.

Bookmakers William Hill have installed Fleetwood Mac as the favourite to headline next summer, with (what remains of ) Queen also mooted.
