If you're an Arctic Monkeys fan, you'll be well aware of what we mean when we talk about 'that BRITs speech'.
If you're not, your memory might be jogged by us saying 'That BRITS speech where Alex Turner rambled embarrassingly about 'rock 'n' roll' in a weirdly Americanised accent when collecting the award for Best British Album for 'AM' in 2014.'
The Arctic Monkeys frontman came under fire for the change in his accent, with many presuming that he was under the influence of drugs, alcohol or both. Even his bandmates shuffled uncomfortably in the background.
However, in a new interview with Rolling Stone, he denied those claims, saying: "A lot of people thought I was waffling away on drugs, but I wasn't. I just can't pretend getting an award was something I've dreamed about since I was a kid, because it isn't."
Probably just should have said you were pissed, Al.
