Producers behind an impending biopic of rap icon Tupac Shakur are searching for their leading man via open online auditions.
The film, tentatively titled 'Tupac', will follow the rapper's progression from his humble New York beginnings to the success of breakthrough album 'All Eyez On Me', his acting career in the likes of gang movie 'Juice' and basketball drama 'Above the Rim', right up to his controversial death after being shot four times in Las Vegas in 1996.
Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, producer David Robinson said "We're looking for someone with the right mix of raw charm and charisma for the role. At this point, we're more concerned about finding someone with the ability to give their entire heart into the performance than just looks and personality."
Applications can be submitted at Insearchoftupac.skeetv.com until April 30th, where hopefuls are being asked to perform a courtroom monologue from the film's script as well as their favourite 2pac song. Shooting is slated to begin this summer.
