Naimee Coleman has had an interesting career.

After signing with EMI Records in her late teens, the Dublin musician went on to record her debut album 'Sliver Wrists' at the legendary Abbey Road Studios and worked with Tears for Fears’ keyboardist Ian Stanley for its follow-up ‘Bring Down The Moon’.

A period of extensive touring followed, opening for the likes of Van Morrison, David Gray and Suzanne Vega; she amassed fanbases in Japan and Europe, moved to LA in 2004, wrote and toured extensively with the likes of Van Morrison, David Gray and Suzanne Vega.

Now she’s back in Ireland and preparing the release of her new album ‘The Edges’ later this year.

With her new single - a cover of Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’  - out now, we caught up with Naimee to learn more about her.

1. What’s the music that you listened to growing up, that you still listen to today?

Kate Bush - ‘Cloud Busting’.

5. What is your pet peeve?
Sharing my popcorn at the cinema. I’ll happily buy you your own. AND the way my phone’s predictive text always seems to think I want to write ‘worh’ instead of ‘with’. It drives me bananas. It’s a hardship for sure. That’s two. Sorry, I’m a bit cranky today.

6. Name one record, one book and one film that everyone should hear / read / see.
Jeff Buckley - ‘Grace’
Carl Sagan - ‘Cosmos’
‘Back To The Future’

Director: John Hughes
Me: Angela Lansbury

10. Tell us, in one sentence, why we should come to your next gig (whenever it may be.)
Cos I’ll regale ye with fascinating facts about ‘Murder She Wrote’ in between the songs.

'Agony Rants’ with the amazing Gearoid Farrelly and Niamh Kavavagh. It features non-stop pearls of wisdom alongside spit-out-your-tea moments of hilarity.
