Ed Sheeran is already battling two copyright infringement cases, but it looks like he took the easy route to avoid a third recently.
A number of people had noticed the similarities between his recent song 'Shape of You' and TLC's 'No Scrubs', and it appears that the writers of the latter hit have now been given a credit on Sheeran's song.
According to the BBC, originally, Sheeran and his co-writers Steve Mac and Johnny McDaid were the only names listed - but now, 'No Scrubs' writers Kandi Burruss, Tameka Cottle and producer Kevin Briggs appear on the listing of the song on American copyright website ASCAP.
Sheeran has been accused of plagiarising songs in the past - most notably when the writers of Matt Cardle's song 'Amazing' claimed that he ripped it off for 'Photograph', and more recently when the estate of Ed Townsend, the co-writer of Marvin Gaye's 'Let's Get It On', alleged similarities between that song and Sheeran's hit 'Thinking Out Loud'. Both cases are pending.
Sheeran has not commented on the latest development.
