Streaming has revolutionised music charts around the globe, and there's no clearer evidence of that fact than this.
For example, there's no way that a 37-second-long song would have ever made the Billboard Top 100 chart in the US before streaming was included in sales figures - but that's exactly what Kid Cudi's latest 'hit' has done.
'Beautiful Trip' is the opening track of the rapper's new album 'Man on the Moon III'. Because of the album's popularity (it debuted behind Taylor Swift's 'Evermore'), the intro has made history as the shortest song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 in its 62-year history. It landed at #100 this week.
Before 'Beautiful Trip', the holder of the title was “PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen)', a 45-second novelty song by Japanese comedian Piko-Taro.
