29-year-old Swift has said in the past that she wants to release a seventh album before turning 30 in December - so new music is on the way at some point this year. But will it be soon - as in this week? Let's investigate.
It all started when the pop star uploaded a post on Instagram on Monday. Posting an image with seven palm trees, and captioning the photo with seven palm tree emojis, it also had a dream-like filter attached to it. The post only fuelled fans thirst for a new announcement from the singer.
A few hours later, the star uploaded yet another photo with a hazy filter, but this time Swift placed herself in the photo. Perching on a set of winding stairs, and depending on how you look at it, she's either sitting seven steps down from the top, or six steps up from the bottom. Hmmm... looks like we might have a countdown of sorts happening here.
Swift's third post that added fuel to the theory of a countdown, was that she posted a photo of herself behind a fence. And this wasn't just any ordinary fence, oh no, because the singer had been strategically placed in the middle of five gaps. You heard it here first, folks.
Her most recent Instagram post was yesterday, so fans are eagerly awaiting a new upload from the singer at some point today - hoping it might have four of something. Pictures of four ex-boyfriends perhaps? Now that would certainly grab some attention.
It's important to note that Swift has suspended comments on all of these pictures. Which means... she's definitely going to release something, isn't she?
