It's been over five years since Rihanna released her last album 'Anti'.

And while there's nothing wrong with taking an extended break from music - she has been busy with her fashion and beauty lines in the intervening period, after all - it's the constant teasing that has frustrated many fans.

The Barbados native hinted that her ninth album was done and dusted as long ago as 2019, but so far, new music has not been forthcoming - even though some have speculated that 2021 would be the year she will finally release the album.

Now, however, the 33-year-old star has finally hinted that new music might be on the way 'soon'.

She took to Instagram to share a video celebrating 'Anti' spending five years on the Billboard Top 200 chart - making her the first black woman to achieve the milestone.

When a fan cheekily commented 'Celebrate by releasing a song!', she responded by saying "I think I should ?". She added: ‘just 1 tho lol’.

Could she be joking? Or would she joke about such a thing, knowing how desperate fans would cling onto such a morsel of hope? We'll just have to wait and see...
