Lady Gaga has come out to say that she is pulling the song 'Do What U Want (With My Body)' from all streaming websites.
Lady Gaga released the song, which featured rapper R. Kelly, in 2013.
R. Kelly had faced allegations of sexual misconduct against him for a number of years. A recently made documentary series, entitled 'Surviving R. Kelly,' is aiming to blow open all of the claims that young women have submitted against the 52 year old. The rapper said earlier this week that he aims to sue every person involved with the series.
In light of the controversy, Lady Gaga has made reference to the song that she collaborated with R. Kelly on. She has released a statement, where she said at the time she "was angry and still hadn't processed the trauma that had occurred in my own life."
She continued, saying "The song is called 'Do What U Want (With My Body)', I think it's clear how explicitly twisted my thinking was at the time."
The singer said that she stands with the women, and people, who have ever been a victim of abuse. She went on to say, "I can't go back, but I can go forward and continue to support women, men, and people of all sexual identities, and of all races, who are victims of sexual assault."
Lady Gaga finished her statement by adding she intends to "remove this song off of iTunes and other streaming platforms and will not be working with him again. I'm sorry, both for my poor judgement when I was young, and for not speaking out sooner. I love you."
