We've compiled a list of all six Irish hopefuls in contention to go on and represent us at this year's contest. Plus, you can have your say and vote for which track you think has the chances of making it all of the way to the final in Turin this May.
It's been a bumper week for fans of the yearly song contest as all six Irish acts were revealed for this year's Eurovision. All great songs in their own right, unfortunately only one can make it through to the live competition.
The six artists and their tracks were revealed throughout this week on 'The Ryan Tubridy Show' and all of them will perform their songs on 'The Late Late Show Eurosong Special' on Friday, February 4.
On the night, a winner will be chosen to progress to Turin, representing Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Song One
Rachel Goode and her song 'I'm Loving Me' was one of two songs revealed on Monday. Hailing from Ballinasloe in Galway, her track relies on mixing pop with a little bit of country, but we're certainly getting some '80s vibes from this one. Rachel is no stranger to the stage and has performed in many of Ireland's major venues including the National Concert Hall and Bord Gais Energy Theatre, and says her singing icons include Patsy Cline and Mary Black.
Song Two
Also revealed on Monday was second hopeful Brendan Murray and his track 'Real Love', which is a stripped-back ballad. A familiar face to those who know their pop music, and their Eurovision history, as Brendan was a member of Irish boy band Hometown from 2014-2016 and also represented us during the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Also a former 'X-Factor' contestant, he will be hoping to make it to the Eurovision final this second time around.
Song Three
Janet Grogan and 'Ashes of Yesterday' is the third Irish act hoping for Eurovision glory. The singer/songwriter gained chart-topping success in Germany with Xavier Naidoo’s 'Alles Kann Besser Werden' and is also no stranger to the song contest. Janet accompanied both Nicky Byrne in 2016 and Ryan O’ Shaughnessy in 2018 as a backing vocalist, and is hoping that 2022 will be her year to shine. Reality TV fans will also recognise her from RTE’s 'Last Singer Standing'.
Song Four
Brooke Scullion and her catchy bop 'That's Rich' is the fourth hopeful. Brooke rose to fame as a finalist of 'The Voice UK' in 2020 and even managed to duet with Ella Eyre while being mentored by Meghan Trainor. Brooke's music has received acclaim from the likes of BBC Introducing, as well as numerous Spotify editorial playlists including New Music Friday and New Pop UK Playlists. Her track is inspired by a blend of The Gossip and Blondie.
Song Five
Patrick O'Sullivan's 'One Night, One Kiss, One Promise' is the fifth song up for the competition. Patrick has performed in the West End in multiple productions such as 'The Book of Mormon' and Meat Loaf's 'Bat Out of Hell - The Musical'. Last year, he also appeared on RTÉ's 'Last Singer Standing', eventually winning the overall competition and walking away with the prize money.
Song Six
'Yeah We're Gonna Get Out Of It' by Miles Graham is the sixth and final track this year. Originally from Clondalkin, Dublin and now based in Co. Sligo, Miles was once a guest on 'Weekend Wogan' on BBC Radio 2 in 2015 with the legendary broadcaster Terry Wogan, and he's had some of his tracks also played on the station. He's also no stranger to 'The Late Late Show', making his TV debut in 2018 with his song 'Let It Shine'.
