The Eurovision entry for Ireland has been decided - and it feels like a summer banger.
Sarah McTernan, hailing from Scariff in County Clare, will be representing Ireland at this year's Eurovision song contest in Israel. If McTernan looks familiar, that's because she has appeared on our screens before, finishing third in 2015's 'The Voice of Ireland'.
The Eurovision entry for Ireland this year is a pop song with definite summer vibes, called '22'. The track was written by Janieck, Marcia Sondeijker, and Roulsen.
The music video for '22' was filmed on Dollymount Strand by Dublin director Christian Tierney, whose previous clients include Niall Horan and Hozier. Have a listen to the song below.
McTernan, as well as Eurovision heart-throb Johnny Logan, will be appearing on this Sunday's 'Dancing with the Stars'. Speaking on representing Ireland in Israel this year, McTernan said:
"My 25th birthday is next Monday and if you'd told me last year that I'd be chosen to represent my country at Eurovision, performing the song for the first time on 'Dancing with the Stars' this Sunday, and then flying to Tel Aviv on my birthday to record a postcard, I would have told you - you were crazy!"
Is it just us or does the guitar riff of '22' sound like OMC's 'How Bizarre' from the 1990's? Whatever way, '22' is a funky pop track that we hope will get us through to the semi-final at Tel Aviv on Thursday, May 16th.
