Supergroups - you might think they're quite uncommon, but they've happened countless times in the past.

For example, back in the 80's we had The Highwaymen, made up of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson; while most recently we've heard from LSD, made up of Labyrinth, Sia, and Diplo.

In terms of female supergroups, the most recent one in modern history would be the iconic 'Lady Marmalade' from Christina Aguilera, Pink, Mya, and Lil' Kim; you could even consider 'Bang Bang' with Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj a supergroup.

Here would be our top picks if a female supergroup were to be formed this year - and why each member deserves a place.

Charli XCX

Known for her celebrity teams-ups, Charlie XCX would be a no-brainer inclusion. From collaborating with the likes of Iggy Azalea, and Danish singer MØ, to even taking to the stage with Camila Cabello as part of the Taylor Swift 'Reputation' tour - her uniqueness would be a very welcome addition to our supergroup.

Lizzo

Lizzo broke onto the music scene with one of the best tracks of 2018, 'Boys.' She made such an impression on us last year, that we had her on our list of top artists to watch in 2019 - and she hasn't let us down; her newest single 'Juice' is tearing it up in the charts. Lizzo's inclusion in our supergroup would bring that pop of fun and much-needed soul.

Demi Lovato

With the pipes on Lovato, it's no wonder that she is one of the biggest pop stars in the world - but we reckon if you took her out of her comfort zone, she'd feel right at home in a supergroup such as this. She's got that certain "fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee" attitude that would change the group dynamic completely.

Cardi B

Without a doubt, one of the biggest female rappers on the planet deserves a place in our female supergroup. Not only would her presence in the group bring her incredible rap influence, but Cardi B is also one of the funniest artists out there. You just know she'd bring her A-game.

Dua Lipa

She's just so cool, and in our eyes she can do no wrong. Dua Lipa's involvement in the supergroup would be second-to-none; she's got the moves, as well as the ability to create multiple number one tracks. Her latest single features in the new movie 'Alita: Battle Angel,' showcasing that she's got a global presence.

And all together, they could be awesome. Those are our top choices for a female supergroup - who would you have in yours? Let us know.
