The band members shared tributes to Stephen Gately on what would have been the singer's 42nd birthday.

Gately tragically died in 2009 while on holidays in Majorca, at the age of 33. He is believed to have died of an undiagnosed heart condition. Since his untimely death, his former Boyzone members have been paying tribute to their late friend every year since he's passed away - from releasing their album 'Brother', which was dedicated to the singer, to hosting an ITV show about his life in 2010

Ronan Keating took to his Intagram on Tuesday to share his message, which was a photo of his tattoo with Gately's year of birth, and year of passing, "76 09". Keating said, "I hear your laugh every day bro. That wicked sense of humour still gets me through. Thank you for the friendship. Can’t believe 9 years have passed. Miss ya Bro your song will last forever. #Wingman #Brothers #Love".

Keith Duffy also posted 10 photos of himself with Gately on Instagram, with the caption "There’s not a day goes by where I don’t remember a wonderful memory of times spent with this beautiful beautiful man. I miss you Steo".

Mikey Graham tweeted "9 years ago today. Still can’t believe Stephen. Still miss you pal":

And Shane Lynch shared a picture of himself with Gately that read "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure":

Boyzone are set to release their final album together 'Thank You & Goodnight' on November 16th, and will be touring Ireland and the UK in the new year
