Although 2020 has been a strange and surreal year for people, there's one glitter-filled light amidst it all that's keeping us going.

Namely, that '70s pop supergroup ABBA will finally released new music this year. In an interview with CNBC, Bjorn Ulvaeus confirmed Benny Anderson's statements from earlier this year that songs are coming in 2020.

"They’re coming this year. I’m guessing after the summer,” he told CNBC. "But I can only guess, because I’m not really sure. But I would think so." Two songs were recorded back in 2018 and were expected that year, but neither surfaced anywhere and were not released either.

Yet, for the mystery surrounding when these songs will surface, Ulvaeus said that the recording process for them was positive. "It took half a minute and somehow we were back in time like we had been there yesterday as well. It was so strange," he said.

ABBA haven't released new music in over 35 years, with their final studio album, 'The Visitors', being released way back in 1981. However, with the continued success of 'Mamma Mia!' as a musical franchise, the movies, and just the fact that we all need a bit of levity and joy right now, what better time to put new ABBA songs into the world?
