Wednesday Afternoon

2004

Miguel is an East L.A. teenager with aspirations of going to a good college. One year earlier, Miguel's mother - Carolina, divorced his father due to his unemployment and constant infidelities. Every Wednesday since then, Miguel has spent the afternoon with his father Alberto. Alberto, an immigrant from Mexico, is a small time drug dealer. He brings Miguel along for the ride while he services his regular customers. Miguel enjoys the time spent with his father, but when his mother and little sisters are threatened by his father's business associates, he quickly learns the consequences of Alberto's recklessness. Miguel, unable to stop his father, makes a decision that will haunt him for the rest of his life, forcing him to explore the boundaries between right and wrong and severing the ties that bind him to his father.
