A man returns to his home town after his sheriff father is killed, but finds it overrun with criminals and decides to take on law-enforcing duties. Walking Tall is a 2004 action film. A remake of the 1973 film of the same name, it stars The Rock and Johnny Knoxville. Like the original film, it was based on the real-life story of Sheriff Buford Pusser and utilized many elements from his life. A number of aspects were changed, including the main character's name (to "Chris Vaughn") and the setting was moved from McNairy County, Tennessee to Kitsap County, Washington, United States. Walking Tall: The Payback and Walking Tall: Lone Justice, are two direct-to-video sequels that have been released starring Kevin Sorbo.
