To The Limit is a film about the human body. Premiering in 1989, the film marked the first collaboration of NOVA and the Museum Film Network, a consortium of 14 international science museums. The film focuses on human performance through the stories of three athletes: rock climber Tony Yaniro, downhill skier Maria Walliser, ballerina Nina Ananiashvili, and track and field athlete Carl Lewis. Innovative microscopic photography shows how their bodies respond to their quest for a personal best.
