A couple return home to the US after living in China for years, only for their son to fall inexplicably ill and to be tormented with visions of ghosts. When Western medicine can provide no explanation for the boy's condition, his mother turns to a Chinese pharmacist, who tells her she must find out what the spirits want before they take her son.
