Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess and Lynn Wang jointly helm a colour-saturated computer-animated musical comedy about becoming the mane attraction by always dancing to the beat of your own hooves. Based on series of children's books penned by Aaron Blabey, Thelma The Unicorn follows the eponymous miniature pony (voiced by Brittany Howard), who lives on a farm with donkey best friend Otis (Will Forte). Thelma dreams of musical stardom with her band The Rusty Buckets but as one of the horses on the farm cruelly observes, 'Ain't nobody want to hear music from a plain old farm pony!' A bizarre accident involving a truck carrying a consignment of glitter and pink paint transforms Thelma into a unicorn with the addition of a horn to her forehead. In her new guise, she instantly rises to global stardom and seemingly gets her heart's desire but fame comes at a heavy cost
