The Last Man

2006 Drama

A killer is on the loose in Beirut, and a doctor treating the fiend's victims finds he's developing a strange connection to the crimes in this thriller. Dr. Khalil (Carlos Chahine) is a forty-something physician who works in a Lebanese hospital. Each morning, Khalil is faced with another victim of a bizarre serial killer who has the city gripped in fear -- the bodies all have bite marks on their necks, and have been drained of blood. As Khalil works with authorities to try to solve the mystery of the strange deaths, he undergoes a terrible transformation -- he no longer casts a reflection in mirrors, and he's developed a powerful desire to bite his patients on the throat. Is Khalil the killer, or has the killer put the medic under some strange spell? Originally produced for television, The Last Man received sufficient popular and critical acclaim to merit a theatrical release in Europe.~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
