This film centers on the life and work of Jos Vandeloo. The film has two parts. the first one is a documentary on the native region of Jos Vandeloo, the second part is about his short story The Joke. The Joke is about a man, who has been arrested, jailed and questioned about a hold-up and murder. We meet him in his cell, questioning and thinking about his life and how he got to this point.
