Two lovers find themselves constrained by cultural convention in this Iranian drama that is set in the country. Rasul is a widower in his 60s and works at a tomato-packing plant. He gives his job to Nobar, a strong-willed woman struggling to support her family. Rasul has great respect for Nobar and her selfless efforts to earn enough to feed them. Gradually the two become friends, and eventually they find themselves romantically attracted to each other. Unfortunately, they are from different classes and their great age difference also makes it culturally unacceptable for them to unite. Rasul does not object to defying tradition, but his adult daughters do and they oppose him at every turn.~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
