The Assassin

A junkie assassin establishes an airtight alibi before carrying out a high profile hit on a powerful nightclub owner, but suddenly finds his perfect plan falling apart after locking eyes with a beautiful singer as he exits the club. The assassin may be a drug addict, though when it comes to getting the job done he has a reputation as a consummate professional with a sure shot. After setting up an alibi with his long-suffering lover, the triggerman heads to the nightclub and locates his target. On the way out of the club, however, he can't help but noticing the beautiful singer up on the stage. Though their eyes connect for only a brief moment, there's no question that she saw him as clear as day. Later, when the police place the killer in a line-up and bring in the singer to identify him, she knowingly denies that she had ever seen him before. But the police captain's instinct has never failed him in the past, and he knows he's got the right man. It's only a matter of time before the killer slips up, and detectives will be waiting for that moment to bring him down. Meanwhile, the gangsters who hired the hit man have realized that their trusted assassin has become a liability, and put a contract out on him.
