A penniless New Yorker hopes to turn his fortunes around by selling his dead father's flat in Paris, only to find an eccentric elderly Englishwoman is living there - and under French law, he cannot sell until after she dies. As he gets to know his unexpected tenant, he discovers a side to his father that he never know.
