Serving 4 years in jail for a bank robbery committed to avoid bankruptcy, Umberto is allowed to work outside the prison during the day as a librarian. He starts to hang out with a beautiful woman who mistook him for a volunteer helping the inmates – but, like a modern-day Cinderella, he must leave and be back in his cell every day before midnight... will they manage to live happily ever after?
