Here After

Here After is a cinematographic adaptation of the dance/theatre performance Puur (2005 - choreography & direction Wim Vandekeybus). This mid-length experimental film is a mixture of fiction and dance, but with a stronger emphasis on the fictional element than in any of his former films: the narrative in Here After is much more prominent. The trashy but beautiful Super8-images showing us an isolated community have been edited together with Super 16-images filmed at a later stage in natural settings and a studio. Against these images, the performers dance to the sounds of Italian composer Fausto Romitelli and the lyrical music of David Eugene Edwards.
