On the eve of the G20 summit in Cape Town, US President Danielle Sutton (Viola Davis) is dragged out of bed by her Secret Service team to address unflattering headlines caused by a viral video featuring her spirited daughter Serena (Marsai Martin). As punishment, Danielle insists Serena and her brother Demetrius (Christopher Farrar) will accompany their father Derek (Anthony Anderson) to South Africa.
