Tom, an idealistic young left-wing journalist, is about to settle down with his girlfriend when his life and views get shaken up by the beautiful Pakistani refugee Nadia. At work, his ideals are increasingly confronted by the harsh reality of modern urban society while at home, his flamboyant grandfather fights his last personal battle - a battle for the right to die.
