Two natural lakes are joined together to create a dam that produces electricity. An entire mountain village is submerged by water. The inhabitants lose their houses and build a new village near the lake. All the old buildings are now submerged - except for the church tower, built in 1300. The tower emerges from the lake, just in front of the new village inhabited by a hundred people. Legend has it that on certain nights you can hear the bells ringing. Nothing strange, except that the bells were removed in 1950. When you hear them, it means that the part of yourself that you hide from, your shadow, your doppelganger, has just come out of the lake and is looking for you. This place is located in the north of Italy, a few kilometres from the Austrian border and is called Curòn, hence the name of the series.
