After years of absence, fortune-teller Lola and her companion Louis again pitch their tents in the village of Verbrande Brug. Louis once had an affair with one of the women of the village, Monique, which resulted in the birth of their daughter, Christine, now seven years old. The fuse is lit once again, when Monique wants to win Louis back.
