Adapted from Bram Stoker's mystical thriller 'The Jewel of the Seven Stars', the soul of Egyptian Queen Tara is transferred into the body of the daughter of one of the archaeologists who desecrated her tomb in this Hammer Horror favourite. Centred on the twin themes of sexuality and parent-child relationships, director Seth Holt died during production and Michael Carreras completed the movie that made a Scream Queen of Valerie Leon, Bond Girl, Carry On star and Hai Karate aftershave model. Accenting hypnotic fascination and credible menace above shock value, this is one of Hammer's most enduring classics.
