Barefoot at Dawn

Winter 1927. Last year of Felix in the village school before the big trip to the private college, scheduled for the fall. Nothing is sure yet but Uncle Rodolphe has connections there that could allow this eventuality. In the meantime, he has one last summer to spend in his big family of ten brothers and sisters. Son of Leo the pioneering merchant, Felix is a rather dreamy child. Sensitive to all that surrounds it, contemplative nature, this child of twelve years will face this summer there for the first time to the adversity, the love and the death. Newly accompanied by a strong friendship with Fidor, a poor child living on the farm outside the village, he will understand that childhood has an end and that adult life must begin somewhere.
