Twenty-eight years ago, scientist Val Shepherd (Lana Parrilla) ushered in a new technological era by creating an AI experiment, Harlan (Simu Liu), to serve mankind and protect her daughter Atlas. Unfortunately, Harlan betrays his programming to spearhead a devastating military campaign against human forces. He flees Earth to planet GR39, biding his time for revenge. Atlas (Jennifer Lopez) becomes a counter-terrorism analyst for the International Coalition of Nations (ICN). Colonel Banks (Sterling K Brown) orders an ICN mission to GR39, led by General Boothe (Mark Strong), to neutralise the threat posed by Harlan. Given her connection to the rogue AI, Atlas is enlisted as a consultant and she prepares for battle inside state-of-the-art mechanical battle armour (voiced by Gregory James Cohan)
