Chung Nam )Goro Kishitani) is one of the millions of Korean residents of Japan, unassimilated to that country and without citizenship even after several hundred years. Anti-Korean prejudice is strong, so he calls himself by the Japanese-sounding name Tadao. He earns his living by driving a cab for a Korean-owned taxi company. He can't decide who he dislikes more: his mother or the (recent) immigrants who come to her sleazy nightclub. However, she has recently hired a lovely girl from the Philippines (Ruby Moreno) who charms his socks off. Maybe his anti-immigrant posture will get changed by her.~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide
