An inept insurance salesman's exasperated boss sends him way out West, where he unwittingly sells a life insurance policy to Jesse James. As he tries to get the money back, he ends up being mistaken for the outlaw - prompting James to hatch a plan to get the salesman killed and pocket the money himself.
