Absolution

On a winter’s night Kila and her husband Martin are speeding down a country lane in an emergency dash to a nearby hospital when in the dark and the rain the car hits something. Martin goes to take a look. It’s an injured elk. Kila, distracted by the pain of her premature labour thinks no more of the incident and later that night gives birth to a beautiful healthy daughter. While in the hospital, Kila meets Hanna, a woman whose husband lies in a coma, the victim of a hitand-run-driver. Over the course of their hospital conversations Kila’s suspicions are aroused, and she becomes convinced her husband lied about the events of the night her daughter was born.
