1975. The suicide of Cecilia, the youngest of the Lisbon sisters, obsesses the local boys with the fate of her siblings, of whom Lux is the most vivacious. Director Coppola captures the listless drift of suburbia but that sense of ennui infects the rest of the movie - flashes of wicked black humour fail to leaven the sombre tone.
