A sprawling, ambitious adaptation of Marcel Proust's A La Recherche Du Temps Perdu, Time Regained concentrates on the final volume of Proust's autobiographical epic to chart the evolution of a weak and nervous child into an artist. The narrative is dense and the cinematography leans heavily on surrealist devices but Time Regained is a challenge worth the effort.
