Released from jail, fall guy Leo (Wahlberg) returns to his friends who are now heavily involved in crime. An intense, noir-influenced thriller, The Yards is an accomplished movie. The themes may be common ones (friendship and betrayal) but they are the driving force of a character-driven script that allows all of the participants to shine.
