Paul (Jason Biggs) wins a scholarship to a New York college and has to deal with the standard teenage problems: no friends, no money and the girl of his dream (Suvari) is with someone else. Loser may aspire to the 1980s classic teenage comedies (Say Anything, Better Off Dead), but Heckerling's script is cliché-ridden and lifeless. Avoid.
