Here we go again. Dislike them or hate them, Messrs. Friedberg and Seltzer are successful filmmakers. Why? Because just enough people went to the last Scary Movie, their directorial debut Date Movie was given the go-ahead. Just enough people went to that, so Epic Movie was given the green light. Just enough people went to that, so Meet The Spartans was given the nod. Who are these 'people' and what the hell are they doing giving money to idiots like this? Edmund Burke once wrote, "All it takes for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing." Well, to stop Friedberg and Seltzer from making another film, all you have to do is nothing - which is the easiest thing in the world. Don't go. Stay at home, read a book, ring your mum, write a letter, cook a dinner for loved one, treat yourself to a decent stare at the ceiling - do something, anything, other than going to watch this. 300 is used as the jump-off point so bottom-feeders Friedberg and Seltzer can poke fun at airhead celebrities (Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton etc), pop culture (American Idol, Happy Feet, Ugly Betty, America's Next Top Model etc) and, more importantly, to get as many product placements (there's an advertisement every five minutes) into the thankfully short running time (the 84 minutes include a very long end credit sequence). What no one seems to mention is that Friedberg and Seltzer are just as bad as those they parody. Go figure. What's next, the Wayans parody these guys? Let's hope not - time would probably collapse in on itself.
