A pregnant Felicia (Cassidy) travels from Ireland to England to search for her boyfriend and meets the friendly Mr. Hilditch (Hoskins), whose impeccable manners and generous hospitality are slowly unmasked to reveal something very malevolent indeed. The story eschews shrieking cellos and slamming doors to evoke an evil that is all the more chilling for its cocoa-and-biscuits normality.
