Running time: 100 minutes

In which John Travolta continues his quest for comeback glory with this substandard thriller based around a divorced father who believes that his kid's new stepfather isn't quite the lovely chap that he seems. Travolta, of course, plays the disgruntled father, Frank Morrison. His much younger former wife Susan's (Teri Polo) new beau is Rick Barnes (Vaughan) a wealthy industrialist. Yet according to Frank and Susan's nipper, Danny (O'Leary), Rick is guilty of murder. Needless to say, it's left up to Frank to prove that his kid isn't lying and Rick is nasty piece of work. After a bright enough opening 15 minutes, Domestic Disturbance quickly abandons any semblance of drama and quickly becomes a plodding drama where wooden acting and formulaic plotting supersede suspense. Travolta grunts his way through the proceedings, and although Vaughan is obviously having fun, he doesn't possess enough menace to make for a believable villain.
