With news coming in late last night that Zoe Kravitz is now set to play Catwoman in Matt Reeves' take on the Caped Crusader, 'The Batman'.
Kravitz will star opposite Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman, with the movie slated to swoop into cinemas (that's a lot of S-sounds) in 2021. Interestingly enough, this isn't Kravitz's first brush with comic-book movies. In a 2015 interview with Nylon, Kravitz revealed that she was blocked from auditioning for a small role in 'The Dark Knight Rises', being told that the producers were not "going urban" for the role. Not only that, Kravitz's step-father is none other than Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa.
At any rate, reaction for Kravitz's casting as Catwoman seems to be unanimously positive, with just about everyone commenting on the chemistry that Pattinson and Kravitz are likely to have together on screen.

Recent reports have it that Kravitz was in the running against the likes of 'Blade Runner 2049' star Ana De Armas, 'Baby Driver' alum Eiza Gonzalez, and newcomer Ella Balinska, but won out following a chemistry test with Pattinson. As of now, the only roles cast and confirmed so appear to be Robert Pattinson and Kravitz, however Jeffrey Wright and Jonah Hill are still in the mix as Jim Gordon and unnamed villain, respectively.
'The Batman' is slated for June 25th, 2021.
